Bachelor studies - Foreign Languages for Business
Graduate profile and career options
Graduates in two foreign languages (English in combination with French, German, or Russian) are proficient in the theory and practice of basic language levels (phonetics and phonology, lexicology, stylistics).
In these languages, they master linguistic and socio-cultural competences, especially focusing on economics, business, services, and management. In addition, the students are familiar with the etiquette of oral and written communication and the specifics of business and corporate practice in the countries of the languages studied and in the European Union in general. The students will be trained in translation and interpreting activities in this sphere.

They can independently implement cooperative communication activities in two foreign languages in the spheres of business, services, banking, insurance, law firms, consulting firms, media, government institutions, etc. At the same time, however, they are ready to continue their higher education in further master's programmes.

Admission Procedure Conditions
The admission examination takes the form of a written test in both languages of the chosen combination. In addition to the knowledge of the culture, history, and geography of the language areas of the chosen combination, the test tests the level of knowledge of the foreign languages in question using various types of multiple-choice exercises: English and German at B2 level, French at B1 level and Russian at A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Due to the nature of the study programme, the examination also includes a written test in the Czech language, aimed at determining the level of the applicant's knowledge in the lexical-grammatical area. It presupposes successful completion of the school-leaving examination (maturita) in Czech or Slovak (for foreigners outside the Czech Republic and Slovakia, at least basic knowledge of the Czech language, which will be intensively deepened). The test does not require the knowledge of literature or literary theory.
