Profile of a graduate of the Bachelor's degree programme Foreign Languages for Commercial Purposes
Graduates in two foreign languages (English in combination with French, German, or Russian) are proficient in the theory and practice of basic language levels (phonetics and phonology, lexicology, stylistics).
In these languages, they master linguistic and socio-cultural competences, especially focusing on economics, business, services, and management. In addition, the students are familiar with the etiquette of oral and written communication and the specifics of business and corporate practice in the countries of the languages studied and in the European Union in general. The students will be trained in translation and interpreting activities in this sphere.
In addition to the philological basis of study, the programme includes courses in the fundamentals of economics, business, and services. The special focus of the graduate is expanded to include courses in the cultural realities of the language areas.
Graduates are able to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in a creative way in practice. They can independently implement cooperative communication activities in two foreign languages in the spheres of business, services, banking, insurance, law firms, consulting firms, media, government institutions, etc. At the same time, however, they are ready to continue their higher education in further master's programmes.
